The 13 prophecies
The Book of Chilam Balam is where the most extraordinary prophecies in the history of mankind are embodied. They came from the divine thought of the Mayan culture, and, in reality, have come to pass with remarkable accuracy.
The chilamob, or the prophets, were men of knowledge who foresaw the arrival of Europeans several centuries earlier, and likewise foresaw the end of the world as it is conceived. While history speaks that the Maya were conquered, it can be said that from the point of view of spirituality and of wisdom they were never conquered or annihilated. Hence, we must pay special attention to the prophecies.
Prophecies:
4 ajpu 1,993-2,012
The 4 ajpu katun is the eleventh prophecy that says: Chichen Itza. On the edge of the wells of the Water-Witch, is your seat. The Quetzal will arrive, the green bird Yaxum will arrive, Kantenal will arrive, he of the Yellow tree; the vomit blood will arrive for the fourth time. Kukulcan will arrive, Snake-Quetzal, in pursuit of the Itzas, the Water-Witches. The fourth time that the katun speaks, the fourth time it arrives at the Itza, the Water-Witch.
Prophecy 1: That speaks of the return of Quetzalcoatl
This is the most important prophecy of the book: the return of Quetzalcoatl for the fifth time. The Chilam balam says: " ... the fourth time that the katun speaks, the fourth time it arrives at the Itza, the Water-Witch." This means that Quetzalcoatl has been on the ground four times, and the fifth time on earth is from 1993. It means that now He has been here 15 years, is 15 years old.
"Chichen Itza, On the edge of the wells of the Water-Witch, is your seat." This puts the mystic city Chichen Itza as the seat, in a spiritual sense. It means that people identified as seekers of science, the new spiritual guides, those who have not conformed with the official religious traditions, who investigate in their own being, navigating the dark sea of science, these will be the first to identify the precious master of the Plumed-Serpent. This means that this being has been born already and is born with the mission of being Lord Plumed-Serpent, the cosmic messenger.
The Long-Count calendar has date December 22, 2012 as the value that closes a katun, a baktun, and a cycle baktuns. It coincides with astronomical events that will affect the existence of human beings. For example, it will be the winter solstice, the day on which sunlight resurrects its journey through the underworld. Shortly before, on June 6th of that year, the conjunction of Venus with the sun will take place, an event that is repeated only every 104 years.
The amazing thing is that astronomers have calculated that the movement of the sun in the celestial vault will cross with the Dark Rift (a dark stain in the middle of the Milky Way from which the ancient Maya began to measure the displacement of the equinoxes), in the year 2012.
In analyzing this synchronicity, we find elements for an extraordinary hypothesis: The Maya developed their own Long Count calendar not as a number of days elapsed from some initial point, but, rather, the number of missing days before the Dark Rift conjunction. With astonishing accuracy, they knew that this conjunction would fall in 2012 and chose 22 December to count backwards to their age, and found August 13, 3114 BC a base from which to begin the count of history.
We find here a unique case among all cultures of the earth: a people who conceived and adjusted their lives not by the time lapsed, but by a time that will come. The ancient Maya not only handled the initial point, but, also, something that the cultures of the old world were never able to conceive of: the scientific concept of the end-point.
In addition, scientists have discovered that on 22 December 2012 there will be a very peculiar Cosmic alignment: all the planets formed into the Mayan cross. The sun will be at the center, and will bring changes in climate and the world as we know it now. Life will change in the material and the spiritual plane, but this will only happen to those who create and investigate on the prophecies and those who have a strong spiritual life, with beliefs rooted in the material and spiritual world.
